Create VM on Nutanix-CE on Laptop

After setting up the Nutanix environment, created a new VM on it. VM creation was very straight forward and easy. but after creating the VM, tried to power it on many times but didn't work.

then increased the Nutanix VM memory upto 24G but still didn't work. then increased the vcpu to 8 and then successfully powered on the VM

Setup Nutanix-CE on VMWare Workstation on Laptop

Starting this new blog with my daily learnings about Nutanix. Since the day we bought few nodes of Nutanix in our office, i was itching to learn it. Finally deployed Nutanix CE on my laptop.

Here are the steps.

1) download nutanix ce and ce-2016.04.19-stable.img.gz
2) create a vm on vmware-workstation and deployed the ce file

after playing with the Nutanix vm for sometime I restarted the Nutanix vm and found the prism interface didn't work. logged into nutanix cvm and ran 'cluster status', found that the cluster was down due to some files were having wrong timestamp. fixed the time and timezone of both the base and cvm VMs and ran 'cluster start' and it came up beautifully.
